The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, as a part of
updating its registry, would be conducting KYC of directors through a new form
i.e. DIR – 3 KYC notified with effect from July 10, 2018. Every individual who has been
allotted a Director Identification Number (DIN) as on 31 st March of a
financial year shall submit e-form DIR-3-KYC to the Central Government on or
before 30th April of immediate next financial year. For the year ending on March
31, 2018, this form has to be submitted on or before August 31, 2018 by
all the directors of all companies or any person holding a DIN on March 31, 2018.

The abovementioned information would be verified by
one time password (OTP). The form has to be pre-certified by a practicing
professional. In case of failure to file DIR – 3 on or before dates
provided above, MCA system will mark all DINs as ‘Deactivated’ provided
that the deactivated DIN can be reactivated by filing the form DIR-3.
